Khaled Al-Harban

Born in 1944, the famous sports commentator Khaled Al-Harban begins this interview by speaking about his childhood in Al-Matabbah neighborhood in Sharq, and about being orphaned at a young age and being adopted by his grandmother. Al-Harban also speaks about the schools he attended, and about starting to play football during his school years. Al-Harban mentions acquiring a driver’s license at an early age, and working as a taxi driver while still being a high school student. He also talks about studying Physical Education in Egypt and working as a Physical Education teacher at Kaifan School. Al-Harban also provides details of his beginnings as a sports commentator, as well as takes us through important historical milestones with the Kuwait national football team. After his account of the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait and the liberation of Kuwait, Al-Harban concludes the interview by speaking about his work for Orbit Communications Company, as well as working as President of the Kuwait Handball Association.
